On the 1993 3.3L engine, what is the thread size of the water inlet plastic hose fitting, on the intake manifold.
Is it a 1/4 - 18 NPT w/ a 5/8 hose barb?

Remove it and match it up at any autoparts or hardware store. Most water fittings in U.S. cars are NPT pipe fittings.

The water fitting going into the air ilet manifold is a 3/8 NPT x 5/8 hose. Now try and find one on a weekend.

Sorry for the incomplete answer, I thought you could measure the diameter of the hole, since there is a big difference between 1/4 NPT and 3/8 NPT.

You can usually find these at hardware stores in brass or steel.

There is a big difference between the ¼ and 3/8, but with only the alternator removed, I gained access to the port but not clear access. After measuring the hole, I erred towards the smaller ¼ but after chasing the thread, it still didn’t feel quite right. After removing all the other equipment and then jacking up the motor I could see that I had actually only cut a thread into the broken fitting.

The only fitting I could find on the weekend was a 3/8NPT by ½ hose. The difference in the hose was made up by using epoxy and double clamping. Epoxy is the king of emergency repairs – duct tape the prince.

Glad you got it working, and again, sorry for not giving you a more informative answer.

I'm having the same issue on the same make, model, year, and engine car. What store did you find the connector at and what did they call it? I went to Auto Zone tonight and they didn't have anything like that.

Hardware stores usually carry brass NPT fittings with barbed ends.
