Engine Performance problem
1993 Pontiac Grand Am 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 180 K miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
My husband has a 1993 Grand Am, he retired over a year ago and does not drive it at all...3 months ago he tried to start it and it would not turn over. We had it towed to a shop, they charged it and it started right up....he neglected to go out and start it up on a regular basis...and it won't start again....so we replaced the battery and it still won't turn over....it cranks but will not turn over....

Try this spray carb cleaner into the throttle body and see what happens-if it starts and dies out-start by checking fuel pressure and injection pulses.

Using the carb cleaner should make it start and die out if the ignition system is working properly. Disconnect a sparkplug wire and ground it to the engine while helper crank engine over-do you have spark?
