Were is the expansion valve located and how do I change it

THERMAL EXPANSION VALVE REPLACEMENT TOOLS REQUIRED J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector REMOVAL PROCEDURE Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Remove the surge tank from the surge tank bracket.

Remove the suction line from the dash clip.

Remove the liquid line from the dash clip.

Remove the liquid line and suction line nut from the thermal expansion valve (TXV). Remove the suction line from the TXV. Remove the liquid line from the TXV. Remove the TXV screws. Remove the TXV. Remove and discard the sealing washers. IMPORTANT: Cap all A/C components immediately to prevent system contamination. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE Uncap A/C components. Install new sealing washers.

Install the TXV. Install the TXV screws. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Tighten the TXV screws to 7 N.m (62 lb in) . Install the liquid line to the TXV. Install the suction line to the TXV. Install the liquid line and suction line nut to the TXV. Tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft) .

Install the liquid line to the dash clip.

Install the suction line to the dash clip. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Leak test the fittings using the J 39400-A. Install the surge tank to the surge tank bracket. https://www.2carpros.com/kpages/auto_repair_manuals_alldata.htm
