My 2006 Pontiac G6 all of a sudden a message "Engine Power Reduce" appeard, the car was runing but very slow, what can it be ?

Have to scan for codes
some I ve seen is the Accelerator Pedal Position sensor 1-2
the voltage difference between APP sensor 1 and APP sensor 2 exceeds a predetermined value
get it scanned for codes
and let me know
