2000 Pontiac Firebird, 68,000, 3.8 v6. Wont crank for about 1 1/2-2 hours after you turn it off, then after you wait for a while, it starts right up. I have asked a few mechanics what they think and they have said they think it may be the ignition module but their not sure. Where is the ignition module located so that i can check it and, if needed, replace it?

module wouldn't keep it from cranking. With GM's, it could be as simple as a bad starter that when hot because of it's location near exhaust pipes fails. It could be ignition switch/related components as well as anti-theft, worn pellet resistor ignition key, or bad/corroded grounds/battery cables, and a multitude of other possibles. If trouble code is stored, that would be a start.
