1989 Pontiac Firebird 305 TBI VIN E Auto 165,000mi.

Fuel pump will not run when key is turned to "on". Fuel pump will run if I manually energize it by jumping the relay. The fuel pump relay does not "click" when the key is turned on. If I remove the relay and manually apply power and ground it will "click" just fine. I checked for power at the fuel pump relay connector "C" terminal with the key in the on position and it showed battery voltage for 2 seconds as it should. The only way for me to drive my car is to manually energize the fuel pump with a jumper wire.

What else should I test? Have you had a similar problem? Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thank you

What about cranking it does it have Batt. voltage also check your oil sending unit maybe they are tied together in the event of an accident it will kill the fuel system when there's no oil pressure. And can also be the PCM.
