1997 Pontiac Firebird Security light stays on

This morning I tried to start my car and it would not start. It would not even turn over. Then I noticed the security light was on and when I turned the key to start the car the light would began to flash. After at an hour of troubleshooting I bounce up and down on the cars drivers side while turning the key to the start position. After doing this the car started right up with the security light still on ! The only other info I have on the car is that in has the factory theft deterent system 2. I can only assusme that the car has a faulty sensor dealing with that system or faulty wiring. Thanks in advance!!
