the description says that its been sitting around for 10 months and when he tried to start it up after 10 months it wouldnt start, the car is $700 dollars, im cant really afford to fix it if the repair might be over $300 dollars, any idea what might be the problem? like for instance, could it be something as cheap as an oil change or a few spark plugs? the owner said he changed the battery about 2 months ago. and changes the oil every 3k miles with castrol gtx high mileage. it looks in good condition. and he said he had the breaks worked on a month before he stopped driving it, he seems to think it would just be an oil change, but i just want to be sure. would it be worth it? buying the car for $700 and getting it repaired to drive again? or should i just keep looking?[img:422c1e2389]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/281214_mahhah_1.jpg[/img:422c1e2389]

Try below to determine if its fuel or spark issue then comeback

Get a starting fluid or ether and spray into the carb or the throttle body on an EFI. Did it start and die? If not disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors- Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it
