Could you explain me the procedure to follow, to set ignition timing on a 1988 Trans Am V8 5.0L TPI.

To help me better assist you with this, could you please specify your 8th digit of the VIN ? Also, this is a HEI-EST (distributor equipped) ignition system correct? Not the direct style ( No distributor used) ?

The 8th digit is a "F". This is a HEI distributor for a TPI (no vaccum advance).
