1986 Pontiac Firebird 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Does the brain control spark? We have replaced the following parts already coil, modular, distributor cap, new plugs and wires, crank sensor. And still no spark where do we go next?

No spark normally an HEI problem-check the distributor pick-up coil resistances and short to ground

It is a new pick up coil.. can you please explain in more details on this how do you check for resistances and not sure what you mean by short to ground
