1986 Pontiac Fiero 87000 original miles 2.8 v6

My neighbor has this car for sale but doesn't know everything that is wrong with it. It killed on him while he was driving down the highway. When it was being towed they checked in the engine compartment and saw the distributor housing was rusted badly, so they removed it. Does this sound like it could be only the distributor and perhaps the ignition coil? The distributor i am looking at comes with a new ignition module. Any help that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Before you dump it in-you need to put the engine's no.1 cyclinder on TDC compression stroke and ensure that the rotor points to no.1 cap tower.

Good LUck
