1985 Pontiac Fiero replacing lower intake

We are a respected shop in a small town and we came across something very odd. We replaced the lower intake on said car because of a coolant leak. after the job the connecting rods are now bending. Does anyone have any thoughts? The repairs were all done according to AllData procedure.

looks like you owe the owner an engine. The connecting rods bent because the engine was hydraluliced. In other words water or a liquid got into the cylinder and the valves couldn't open and the piston tryed to compress the liquid. Thus bending the connecting rods. If the crank is ok an dthe pistons are as well you could put new rods in and finish it like that, but you will have to check all the rods for being bent now if there are more than one. Next time just for your own safety remove the spark plugs so if it turns over it will blow the stuff out even if the pushrods aren't in.
