I have a 1997 Pontiac Bonneville, 114,000 miles, V6 and my question is while drivng when you turn the radio on it plays but after about a minute the volume just goes as loud as it can and you cannot turn it down. How can I fix this?

I have volume control in my steering wheel also.

My Bonneville has a setting on the radio that adjusts the volume when you accelerate and decelerate. If yours has this, and if it was broken to the point of not sensing deceleration you might experience this effect. On my car the button for enabling and disabling this feature is right below the station display. Try disabling it (if you have it) and see if that helps.
