Hi

2000 bonneville pontiac 68 k

I was all set to go to change my oil, i have changed it twice before with the help of a mechiaic, now im doing it alone i know exactly how to change the oil and everything and had everything ready expect I forget how to jack up the car, ( i know it sounds lame but I havent changed my oil myself since last summer and i want to do it myself again to save money ) I read the car book and it doesnt seem to help, when jacking up the car to change the oil, should I jack it on the jack point from the side near the wheel either the right or left or is there a way to jack it up from the center so the oil pan can be as level as possible.. i know its a uni body and i dont wanna screw anything up, or my car is junk, and i want to get this done this weekend so a responce asap would be amazing!

so let me know, PLEASE

jack it from the center and were? or the side?

thanks!

Your car has a "cradle" or basically a steel square that holds the engine and trans. You can jack the car up by the steel cradle , front and center. Safest to lift them straight so the car doesnt try and fall of the jack.ALWAYS use jack-stands when under a vehicle, even if you are only going to be under there for a second.
