is there a way to use a jumper wire to check for trouble codes? if so what ports do you put the jumper wires in?

also, will disconecting the battery reset the warning litghts

On the older vehicles there was a jumper. On yours, you need a scanner. If you disconnect the battery, it may or may not reset the computer.
