1999 Pontiac Bonneville puttering lose of performence

my 1999 pontiac bonneville check engin light came on it only flashes it putters and shakes when im at an idle and the same when i take off put doesnt seem as bad its done this in the passed and i used fuel injector cleaner and it fixed the problem for awhile i used it again and it has helped alittle could this be something with the fuel filter line or pump in someway
