Engine Cooling problem
1990 Pontiac Bonneville 6 cyl 147000 miles
Hello - This problem is with a left side radiator fan motor for a 1990 Pontiac Bonneville LE. I can disconnect the wiring connector at the fan and hook it up directly to the battery. Both legs (speeds)work fine. I also get about 13 1/2 volts at the connector when it is disconnected from the fan, so the proper voltages are there (when A/C is on and when it gets too hot without the A/C on). However the voltages go to 0 volts when I reconnect the fan, like something is pulling the voltages down, i.e. a weak relay?
What are your thoughts? I have no idea where the relay is located or where I might search for any other suspect component. Thanks, John
