2004 Pontiac Aztek blower motor

Hello , always nice to meet a fellow tech. I believe you could repair this problem for your grand daughter. The first place to start on this issue is with inspecting the cabin air filter. All kinds of junk collect on these from dirt particles to huge leaves and can definitely block air flow. I have posted the replacement steps below for this specific vehicle's cabin air filter. Another thought would be if the blower motor was recently replaced, they can sometimes be wired backwards which will cause the fan to run backwards. It sounds like it works fine this way, but airflow is minimal. If both of these are good than move on to inspecing the evaporator core. If it has just the smallest of a leak, oil from inside the a/c system begins to coat portions of the coil surface. Dirt sticks to the oil, which forms an airflow dam. The entire surface of the core may become blocked with dirt. Since the underlying problem is the leaking coil, replacement of the evaporator is the only long term solution in this situation..
