2001 Pontiac Aztek Noisy brakes

Brakes problem
2001 Pontiac Aztek 6 cyl Automatic 95000 miles

I replaced front brake pads on my 01 Pontiac Aztek. After doing so the front wheels sqeal when driving. Is it possible that I put them on backwards? Should I move the driverside pads to the passenger side & vise-versa? What should the proper placement of the pads look like?

They will only fit one way. Did you resurface the rotors or try to remove any glaze from them?

The pad with the with the little piece of metal hanging down over the pad material itself goes on the inside and faces down.
Resurface the rotors. This might not help but it can't hurt.
Clean the entire brake area with Brake Cleaner in order to get all of the dust cleaned up.
Place a little dab of grease at the back of your pads or where ever they have another contacting surface to rub against.
Check the dust shield behind the rotor. Is it scraping against the rotor?
Depending on the brake pads you purchased sometimes cheaper isn't always better and sometimes the more expensive ones aren't that good neither. I use Advance Auto Parts Gold ($35.00) and replaced the cheaper standard equipment rotors with heavy duty ones from NAPA ($50.00 a piece).
