I have a 1983 Pontiac 6000 2.5L TBI and when i go to start it gas comes gushing out of the carb part of the tbi. i have replaced all the gaskets and installed a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator. It keeps catching on fire and i cannot find out how to fix it. My Fuel injector is working and i also replaced the stock pressure regulator as well. you have done everything i would have suggested. there must be a crack in the tbi. my next advise would be installing new unit from a junk yard.

if the fuel injector was clogged and the gasket in the picture that is circled was bad would that be enough to make this happen?

a clogged injector will have nothing to do with it. that gasket could be bad but i thought you said you replaced it.

i did but i got it from another car cause i cant buy just that gasket i need to buy the whole kit which is 79 bucks.

i have been in your situation before and they are very finicky, you must replace those gaskets with new ones or they will leak. ive been there and tried that.

also i cleaned the whole setup with carb cleaner. Would that effect my Idle Air Control Valve any?

no. i always clean them with carb cleaner
