Hi all,

For the past 2 weeks my car listed above Blueline has been cranking on warm start, we have tested the car and it indicated no problems. we have replaced the petrol filter and pump, it still had the same problem. we also replaced the crankshaft sensor as well as coolant temperature sensor, still same problem with a new problem, car switches off randomly.we would appreciate any advice.

Hi,

Just so I understand so I am giving good advice, when it is warm it will only crank and not start and it will randomly shut off?

If so, have you done anything with the crank sensor? When the crank sensor gets hot, it randomly goes open and the engine shuts off and then does restart until it cools down.

Here are some guides that walk through this in more detail. Let me know what you think and we can go from there. Thanks

Okay, that is saying you have no crank signal. It could be a wiring issue but most likely it is the sensor itself. If it were me, I would ohm out the wiring and then replace the sensor and go from there.

Okay. Assuming that is all good, when this acts up does it start when you use starting fluid? Lastly, is this the direct injection engine or diesel?

It starts but just take long to start. Had the car on a diagnostic machine last night and it still give me that 1 fault P0322. Don't you think it can be the crank shaft pickup in the gearbox?

Absolutely it can. Long cranks are either fuel related or crank sensor related. Basically the engine will fire without a crank sensor but it takes longer cranking because it needs to learn the engine position through the other sensors.
