Condition started over last six months. Seems to running rough, loose power, sputter then shut off. What for a half hour or so and it will start again but is very sputtery. After 5 or 6 hours problem is gone and it could be days or weeks before it comes back. Changed distributor cap, plugs, rotor, air fileter, fuel filter and fuel pump. Problem seemed to go away for a month or so. Know the problem is back again.

I have the same problem with my '96 Voyager with 137K on it. It will run great at all speeds then starts to miss and sputter before it dies. Then 5 or so hours later it runs. I checked and it is getting spark when it will not start. I thought it was a distributor crank sensor getting hot but am not sure. Let me know what you find out.

The engine in my 1996 van is 3.0 FI V6. I will check with the dealer to see if the recall on the clockspring still applies.

I had the same problem with my van two years ago. O2 sensors, a clock spring, a fuel pump and a rebuilt transmission later, the problem finally ceased.[/b]
