Brought my car to Speedy Lube on Monday and paid for a brake inspection to check my brakes that were sticking just a little when backing out of a parking space. He said the front brakes were OK but that he could not take them apart to check them as he was afraid a part would break and I would have to then automatically replace them. Last night, backing out of a parking space, my rear tires locked up. I shut off the car and restarted it. The Brakes released and I was able to Drive. A New England Tire Mechanic looked at it this morning and told me that the cost will be $744 to replace the rear brakes and drums. Does that sound right?
