I just got a 98 Plymouth Voyager it sounded fine when I test drove it. But when I got it home, you can hear a noise coming from the engine a low pecking noise when its idling. Their is no engine light on , no oil light on , it dosen't miss and it has plenty of power. What could it be?

valve lash. the space between the rocker arm and the top of the valve when there is too much space it creates a slap or tic when they hit. nothing too alarming in my opinion
