After running several errands the radiator cooling fans did not turn off when I parked the van in the driveway. The battery was completely drained so jumper cables werre used to start the van. Now the radiator cooling fans never start. Is there a separate temperature switch to turn the fans on? If so, where is it located?

Thanks,

Hi Roy Keeney. Welcome to the forum. To address the silly complaint that some people could actually hear the radiator fan run, they are now controlled by an extremely trouble-prone computer module that varies the fan speed. It is mounted half way down the left side of the radiator on the core support. It's attached with two 5/16" head screws. If those screws break, the module will overheat and short. If it's not mounted on the metal body, it will get hot enough to burn your hands, so be careful. I sell a lot of these at the nation's second largest old car show swap meet.
