Last month I purchased this car in an auction for $1000.00. I drove the car home and I parked it in my driveway. Three weeks later, I started checking all the fluids I noticed that the transmission oil was brown to black, like if motor olil was used. Question #1: Isn't transmission oil suppose to be red? When I tried to put the car in reverse, there is no power. In drive 1, and drive 2, the car goes forward normally. Question #2: If I replace the old oil with new oil and add a new oil filter, do you think it will make a difference?
Thank you,

This is what I would do
drop tranny oil pan and change fluid AND filter
make sure you use Chrysler tranny fluid or ATF +3 fluid
ONLY
