Check the oil pressure with a gauge, unscrew the oil sending unit, screw in the gauge and take readings with engine fully warmed up, this spec is for 3.0 V6.
Oil Pressure Oil pressure should be 6 psi (41 kPa) at idle and 35-75 psi (241-517 kPa) at 3000 RPM with engine at normal operating temperature.
Lower readings usually indicate worn engine parts, or weak oil pump. Ask if the mechanics cleaned the screen in the oil pan. It is the pick up tube screen.
