I recently just bought a 1965 plymouth fury III and the car has a auto transmission. The car shifts into first gear an drives put when u punch the gas it feels like the transmission just is slipping and wont shift into second. The people i bought it from said that it was fine but it has been sitting for a couple months and it started to do this.
