When I took off hose on radiator, I noticed the part where the hose connects to the radiator has broken off about an inch and is stuck in the hose. Can this be repaired? And is it possible to just purchase the top plastic part of radiator? Car has been overheating, fans are not going on. Could this have caused it to break off like that?

I know separate plastic tanks were available at one point, but Around my neck of the woods the rad shops stopped using them due to too many problems. I'd replace the radiator if it were mine.

Any coolant leak will cause an overheating problem as the coolant is not contained. Fans not working will also cause overheating.

You need to get the rad and fans working. Too much overheating can cause a head or head gasket problem that can overpressure the cooling system and blow out a radiator.
