I've changed bulbs but it appears a wire or connection is bad. Logical 1st search spots? No brake or turn signal, so it's the double grande.

The problem is only on the driver-side rear? Do the turn signals work in the front?

The lower brake lites and turn signal use the same circuit, just not at the same time. They are wired through the turn signal switch.

Can you check for B+ and ground, front and back for the turn signals?

Yah, only back there.

Do the turn signals work in the front?
Yes

I will when I learn what's what on the wires.

At the left rear, dark green wire with red stripe is B+ for stop and turn, black is ground, the other should be for tail-lites.

I've seen bulbs that didn't make good contact in the socket, also wiggle the wires at the socket. You can remove the bulb and use testlite to check for B+ and ground. The testing may lead you back to the turn signal switch?
