Brake Drum problem
1998 Plymouth Breeze 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I just replaced my rear brake pads and installed all new hardware. Now that everything is in place we can't get one of the brake drums back on. Is it because it needs to be resurfaced?

There should be a little piece that looks like a star (called the star adjuster) near the brake assembly. Turn it until the shoes begin to compress and the drum should slide on.

If you ever feel as though your rotors or drums need resurfaced, I suggest replacing them with new ones, as resurfacing them will leave less mass for the brakes to do there job.

If the vehicle wasn't pulsating during braking then the drums should be fine.

Hope this helped.
