1997 Plymouth Breeze Oxygen Sensor Location

It's screwed right into your exhaust manifold which is opposite your intake manifold.I suggest you get a o2 sensor socket to replace it.It's real easy to see sticking up out of it.

One issue seems to be a lot of things (air inlet resonator, etc) covering the wiring...

Do you happen to know of how to clear the wire path?

What size engine do you have?

A second question: I've noticed the wire on my replacement part is only about 6-8" long. It seems like it should be much longer?

By that I mean I found a very similar looking plug towards the front of the compartment. I'm not sure if it is the o2 plug or not, just seems like it is...

I emailed you a diagram of your o2 sensor look at call out number S115 almost point's right too it.Just follow the wire from the o2 sensor to the connector.If the new sensor wire isn't long enough then get a sensor that has a long enough wire.Let me know how it goes.

I actually have a question. It seems that the sensor is plugged into an "extension cord" which reaches into the front of the engine. Is there anyway to tell whether it is the extension cord which is faulty, rather than the sensor itself?

I got that image from mitchell on demand which you have to pay per use or per month.As far as replacing the sensor you just unplug the connector and unscrew the sensor and screw the other one in.I would get a o2 sensor socket there cheap like 10.As far as a bad harness if you give me the code's your computer has i will send you the trouble tree for them.Let me know.

As far as the tools go, I have an o2 socket on loan from an autoparts store here. The issue I'm having is with my ratchet, it just doesn't want to fit within such a confined space :/ (nor is it really long enough to reach the sensor, but thats a different problem)

I s'pose I could run to the store again and grab a longer 22mm open ended wrench and give it one last go.

Unfortunately I don't have the trouble code any more and since I disconnected the battery from the car during my repair attempts, it might be a little bit before I get it again. But, the explanation from the local AutoZone rep specifically stated the o2 sensor - not the harness. Am I correct in assuming a different code would be triggered for the cord/harness?

You can't use a extension on your rachet?No it would the same code for the harness or sensor the computer only set's a o2 sensor code because it see's a problem with the o2 sensor reading's.Most of the time it's the sensor that's why they told you that.But not alway's.
