1994 plymouth , acclaim. 2.5 engine.Last night my brother lost the transmission fluid to my 94 acclaim , I refilled and started the car and there was no visable leak.I drove the car the mile to my home but when I turned into my driveway the trani made a terrible racket and stopped going forward. I quickly put the car in nuetral[its an aotomatic]and the noise stopped.I seem to have reverse, though I didn't move it but no forward gears just a loud racket. Is my trani toast or could it be the axle pulled out thus lossing the fluid?

Most of the time when the tranny is run low on fluid, then it acts up shortly there after the tranny is toast. If the axle came out it wouldn't move in reverse either.
