Im having trouble starting and keeping my car on when it does start. It acts as if i ran out of gas and just slows down on me and wont go. When it dont start it acts as if it do wants to start but it wont. I just got a new fuel pump wit the filter put on it. When it does runs it sounds good and runs great

When the problem occurs, have helper crank it, while you visually check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a fuel pressure gage and check fuel pressure. Some of the national brand autostores used to loan out a fuel pressure gage, if you don't have one. Check for applicable trouble codes.

To check for spark, pull a plug wire, use known good spark plug or spark tester in the boot, ground metal part of tester to metal part of engine, engine cranking, watch for spark.
