1993 Plymouth Acclaim Where do I start????

I have just aquired a 1993 plymouth acclaim that has been sitting for the past 6 years. It started right up when I replaced the battery...I was amazed!!! I tried to drive this car home so that I could park it in my garage to do some work on it. The whole time I was driving it, it kept wanting to stall, so i had to "two foot" it. The person that was following me said the car had a really awful smell, although I couldn't smell it. I desperately need to get this car on the road as it is my only means of transportation at this time.....what do I do ?????
