Here's the story. I have a 2.5ltr 92 Acclaim a few weeks ago I was at a stop light and it just shut off. No sounds or anything just stopped. I found that the timing belt had broke. I replaced the belt this past weekend and the car wont start. I checked to make sure its getting gas, and it is. Double checked the timing and its lined up. Pulled the number 1 spark plug and its getting spark. Took the top off the distributor and the rotor is turning and lines up with the number 1 wire when it is in TDC and timing marks are aligned. It turns over fine and i could feel compression when turning it by hand.

I am at my wits end. I need ideas. I am ready for an Acclaim bonfire.

You need to go back and recheck the valve timing if its 180deg off-its getting fuel and spark-all it needs now is the correct valve and ignition timing
