I bought this car, replaced the exhaust and it ran fine for a few weeks nice and quietly. A week ago it started squealing. We thought it was the water pump since that was starting to leak so we replaced it. It still squealed. So then we thought to check the alternator and put in a new one and it still squeals. The Air conditioning has been disconnected and the car still makes noise so we know its not that. Any clue on what it could be?

Does the car have to be moving to make the noise? If so, suspect a worn axle seal in the transmission. If it will make the noise while standing still, a stethoscope works very nicely for pinpointing the source. Removing the serpentine belt will provide a clue.
