Engine problem
1990 Plymouth Acclaim
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have an Acclaim. It used to be a great car, but recently I've been having some trouble with it. The past few weeks it has been over-heating. And tonight, the hood actually started smoking. I have added oil and anti-freeze. I'm not very car savvy and have no idea what could be wrong. I really need help!! I'm freaking out because I can't afford another car.

The steam is coming out of both sides of the hood. And I think that there is white smoke coming from the exhaust. it smells really bad too, like the oil or antifreeze burning or something.

Sounds like a cracked/warped head or a blown headgasket. perform a compression test on each cylinder the lowest cylinder should be no more then 25% less then the highest cylinder.
