There was a scraping noise from the starter and flywheel; the starter was replaced with a high velocity starter, but the noise still is there every time I start the car; the noise goes right away, but it bothers me because I am not used to hearing it. Can anything be done to the flywheel without replacement? Also, can you please tell me the proper name of the solid rubber piece, or plug, that is pressed into the timing hole to keep dirt from getting in? I need that, too. Thanks.

Hi Median, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation

The flexplate could be warped or chewed-up investigate-if okay the starter could be too far from the flexplate that needs shimming to correct the clearance.

Its called at times the timing cover grommet
