How do I remove the Pilot Bearing?

There are a few tricks to do that, first if you are in the US you can generally get many of the specialty tools like this as a loaner tool from a parts store. They basically just sell you the tool and then when you return it undamaged they refund the money. However if that isn't possible the next most common method is to fill the bore behind the bearing with grease. Then use a solid item that will just fit into the bearing bore and then hit that with a hammer. If the item isn't a very close fit you can add something like a paper towel or piece of rag to use as packing around it. The pressure on the grease will push the bearing out as grease doesn't compress.

The worst thing then is cleaning out all the grease.

Now if it's a solid bushing style the same trick will work but many times you can just find a coarse threaded bolt that will forcibly thread into it and use that as a puller.
