I have a Pug 306 Diesel.
In the mornings, when the engine is cold, I turn on the ignition and it turns over for ages. At first, the ignition is slow, but the more I turn it over, it gets faster and a little smoke starts to come out of the exhaust. This does not seem to drain the battery when I keep turning it over, although, it usually takes me about 2 minutes of me doing it before it finally starts up. Then, as it finally starts up, a huge cloud of black smelly smoke comes out of the exhaust!.
This has got gradually worse over time, and now it is not just in the mornings when the engine is cold that it is happening. It happens most of the times that I use it now.
