Pen fell into defroster vent, how to remove it?

I myself am a “mechanic” i can do standard work on vehicles and i was working on my truck and was writing something on my dash and when i set my pen down and it rolled into the defroster vent. I really don't want to take apart my dash but when i drive i can hear the pen rattling and it's driving me crazy.

Yep, that is a bummer, there is no other way but to try to listen for the area it fell into and take the ducting and blend door actuators out to try and retrieve the pen, there is no standard repair for this problem. Here are images of the HVAC system so you can see what you are in for when trying to find the pen. Check out the images (below).
