PCV valve hose removal?

I need to remove the PCV hose to inspect the valve but cannot disconnect the hose. Is there a special tool or technique? Can you provide the name of the tool or nature of technique to complete this job?

Hello. I believe you are referring to the bolts that hold the actual PCV valves in place. There are two PCV systems on this vehicle. One is a Fresh air valve, and the other is a Foul Air valve, The bolts are Tamper Proof bolts. They are only used once. You have to cut a slice in them and take them out with a flathead screwdriver. This is probably for warranty reasons; you might have to get new bolts from the dealership unless you can find new bolts that will fit. But the ones in there now are a onetime use unfortunately. The 6th and 7th diagrams are the lines, these are tamper proof too and also a onetime use.

He was asking how to get the actual hose off of the valve. It has like 6 tabs that seem impossible to push at once.

This post is over a year old. Is this a different vehicle? The PCV tubing, valve and hose fittings are not serviceable, they need to all be replaced once removed. If this is a different vehicle a new post needs to be made for it.

No, there are two sections of the PCV system, the "Foul Air" tubing which is the section that runs around the front the valve cover closer to the oil fill cap, and there is the "Fresh Air" tubing which is at the other end of the valve cover, I will post diagrams of both. Once either one is removed it must be replaced with a new one, as well as inspection for any pieces that might have fallen into the valve cover. Service info is specific on replacement if either are removed, give me a minute and I'll post the info on both.

Diagrams 1 and 2 are for the foul air side (which take crankcase gases out) and diagrams 3,4 are the Fresh Air section which allows fresh air into the system to help prevent the oil from being contaminated. If you suspect any broken pieces have fallen into the valve cover area, it's best to remove the valve cover and clean out anything that might be stuck inside.

These are "Tamper Proof" bolts, so you would need to cut a slot in them for a flathead screw driver to remove them, and replace with new bolts. I would go with the oem parts for this as well, aftermarket will probably just leak and it will have to be done all over again.
