Hello again.

As I asked two times before, I need the number off the ECM. When you provide that, I will be able to give you the answer. There are a couple of different numbers and I need to see the number.

I have the numbers for the PCM'S . My new PCM for my Jimmy, I bought a new PCM for the Jimmy because I think my old one is shot. But I have that number too. Plus what numbers I could read on my parts vehicle, some numbers were to far faded to see. So I hope one these numbers is compatible with my parts car besides the number. Anyway here are the numbers new PCM number is: 86CCSC9072446LZT and top number is: 16258815. My parts car number is: 868kcx96...80... Top number I believe is: 16200785 I have a service number I found too: 16244210 And a BKCX on it. that was all the numbers I could read on a very faded paper. Now for my old PCM, service number is: 16244..0 and 868kcx9661700cqr and some other numbers: (16200785) 1ga1269230 and 96 1 280693. The top number and the bottom number are W code and the middle number is X. If my two numbers won't work what can I do to make the X model to work on my W model? Hope you have a good word for me. When you get back with me. Thank you. Mr.Patrick Walburn both vehicle are 1996's

Hello again Pat.

Okay, the number you need for your car 16208546. That will work for your truck.

Remember to change the PROM and the coil pack from the old one that was original in the truck with the X VIN.

So your telling me I need to buy another PCM with that number on it? And where is the prom located and the coil pack, the coil pack that starts your vehicle? If that is it that was missing on my parts car. Or is it something different.

You need that number PCM I listed and you need to remove the PROM and cal Pac, sorry, it is not the coil pack.

Those are internal chips in the PCM cover. They contain all the information for the engine and performance.

That is correct. You can go to a parts store and give them the numbers and they should be able to get the correct one with that service number.
