While camping in a remote area I lost my only key for my truck listed above, not realizing I had the PATS System i broke out the key cylinder to try and start it with a screwdriver. I've looked into using a bypass module but I'm leery about the chance of doing more damage. I am pretty sure that I did not damage anything but the key cylinder. I am able to completely remove the key cylinder. if I purchased a new cylinder with programmable keys. Is there a way to get my system working without having any of the original transponder keys?

Unfortunately, the Ford Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) is quite robust and simply replacing the key cylinder with new keys will not resolve the issue. You can have a mobile locksmith come out to do the job/program the ignition key it should cost about $250.00. Here is how to replace the lock cylinder correctly for both functional and nonfunctional situations. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Thanks for your advice, Ken, I bought a new ignition lock with 2 keys. put the ignition on myself then took it to a locksmith to program the keys. everything worked out great, all for a total of $98.00.
