My passages mirror fell off so I am looking at a black knob. Bought a mirror from a junk yard but it came with a back backing on it. I am not sure if that is suppose to be there or if I need to remove the backing and glue the mirror on to the knob? Or is there a way to leave the backing on?

I am not talking about the whole side mirror. Just the mirror glass came off.

You can get a replacement glass at a parts store. They will be exact matches to yours and will attach to the backings unless the backings are damaged.

Then you will need to replace the entire mirror.

These mirrors have backing on them already? So these will just snap into place on the passanger side?

They are not the same size.

They have a backing that could either have the bracket or it just may have adhesive on the backs.

You need to match them to the original mirror. If you do not have the old piece, you need to find the specs for the size. A dealer can get those for you.

I cannot tell if they will work as I do not see the mirror head from the car as a comparison.

That was already a replacement glass that fell out. You can tell by the epoxy that is left in there.

You need the correct glass to start. You need the right size for the mirror and then epoxy it in the way the other glass was installed. Be sure to use a glue/mastic/epoxy that is designed for mirrors.
