While replacing emergency brake pads the parking brake adjusting lever fell off?

Could you take a picture of the parts in question? I'm thinking it is the lever that connects to the cable and comes through the boot to the other piece and forms a T of sorts. Parts 3 and 4 in the pic? It's been a while but If I recall there is a pin that sticks up and goes into a hole and then gets lightly peened on the end to hold those 2 together. A picture might make my mind a bit clearer. If that is the case, you might be able to use a drill or burr to create a recess on the part with the hole and use a hammer to reattach them.

The part that fell off does have a pin that sticks up and there is a hole that it goes into, but it just does not stay in the hole.

Yeah, that is the piece I thought it was. The pin is supposed to go through the hole and then it gets hit on the end to mushroom it just enough that it doesn't fall apart. I've seen people just put a glob of grease on them, put them together and then slip the "sandwich" into the slot on the brake shoe to hold them together while they assemble them. Seemed to work as long as you could hold it all together.
