Crank no start

Have the engine compression tested. For diesel engines, low compression would result in no start. Check the glow plugs to see if they are working. Bad glow plugs would result in difficult starting.
Has the fuel system been fully bled of air in system?

Thanks for the information. the glow plugs have been tested and okay I tested the compression and the readings twelve bar on three of them ten bar on one.
Not sure how to bleed the fuel system of air. please could you advice me how to do this?

Prime the fuel system by pumping the manual hand pump at fuel filter until the knob becomes stiff, indicating pressure.

Loosen the nut holding the pipe to the injectors and crank engine until fuel spurts out and re-tighten the nut. Ensure battery is strong as a faster cranking speed would enable initial starting.

Hi Mate no joy took the bad cylinder head valves out yesterday and there is massive damage to the face with a inch hole in the face but also the valve seating next to it was destroyed could the debris got into the block causing the low compression .
I was trying not to have to swap the whole engine that's why tried using the good engines head cylinder but now thinking of putting that back on the engine I took it off which is a runner and swapping it as I think that the block I put it on may have internal damage as it overheated .
Any comments suggestions would be most welcome and many thanks for your help so far.

Wow that is some damage there. I would inspect the piston and cylinder walls for damage. It might be time for a different engine.

I agree that must have caused piston /cylinder damage we tried to put the good head on the engine that overheated as a quick fix but obviously that has not worked so going to take the whole damaged engine out and put the head back on the one I took it off which is a runner so much for cutting corners but learning all the time will let you know how it goes
