We have changed what we thought was the shift control solenoid B. We are still experiencing the same problems hard reverse and only shifts one hard time during driving. I am unable to locate a diagram for the location of the solenoids I am at a total loss. It is a fnr5 transmission.

all solenoids are in the transmission valve body and should be changed as a unit. they may not be getting power and a professional scanner should be used to test if they are getting power or not by using the scanner to apply them one at a time. check battery voltage and for clean terminal ends. low voltage can cause problem as well or poor grounds. See pictures.

It is also possible that it is not a solenoid issue and you actually have a hard part failure. The system monitors the actions caused by the solenoids by watching what the transmission actually does, so say the solenoid is working and it applies the fluid pressure to the correct port, but the clutch or band is bad, the action that the control module sees is not what it expects for that solenoids action, so it tosses a code saying the solenoid is bad.

However, the best thing to do is as HMAC says, you need the correct scan tool to cycle the various controls and see if they respond correctly.
