Code P0717, where is the Input Shaft Speed Sensor located?

Hi,

It is located behind the transmission damper. I attached the directions for the removal and replacement of the sensor below.

Take a look through these directions and let me know if they help.

Hi,

Absolutely. If you look at the pics below, it shows the locations for the retainers. Don't be overwhelmed. LOL, the majority are plastic insert connectors.

You may want to spend a couple of dollars on a trim removal tool. It makes things much easier. LOL See the last pic I attached.

So much warmer today. I got under the vehicle and now have a question. Looking at the picture below, do I have the sensors labeled correctly? And if I do, Everything I read online described the input sensor connector as blue. Could those connectors be swapped? Or do they appear correct?

I ask for clarification because as I looked up parts, the shape of the one with the blue connector seems to be the shape of the Output sensor at NAPA and the one with the black connector the shape of the Input sensor.

You have them reversed in your pic. What you are getting appears to be correct.

Hi Joe,

Thanks for your help. I couldn't have found the location of those sensors without your help. I decided to replace both sensors while I was under there. Let me tell you, it is a real bear to get to that second sensor. The holding bolt is above and behind the sensor as you look at it from the bottom. The first one was pretty easy to get to even though it was tight even for a 1/4 10mm socket. I had to remove the splash guard from the driver's side wheel well in order to get a second hand in there to attack the upper sensor while my fingers barely turned the wrench from below. The good news is that with new sensors and a good long drive, the pilot did not throw any more error codes. So, that fixed the problem. Thanks for your help.
